N. caerulea, is a species found in nature rather than a hybrid. Historically called the Blue lotus of the Nile before the Lotus and Waterlily were classified into separate groups. Make no mistake it is an annual waterlily. Historically significant for herbal properties as well as a sacred flower and for perfumes. A medium to large lily with light blue star shaped flowers over lime green pads. Plant in heavy clay soil in large (2-7 gallon) wide, shallow container. Fertilize monthly with pond tabbs+humates, place in a sunny location in your pond 6-18" beneath surface of the water.
