Water Poppy | Hydrocleys nymphoides | Bareroot
Water Poppy (Hydrocleys nymphoides) is sold sometimes as a bare root floater but responds better if you pot it in just a bit of soil. Place plants in moderately fertile aquatic soil in pond margins or in any soil condition that are 6-10” below the water level. Your pot may also be placed on the bottom. Best growth usually occurs in approximately 6”-12" deep of water. Plants sited in pond margins will spread out into the water and does well mixed with taller plants to conceal containers just barely submerged on ledges. A great place for frogs to hang out. Warm water required, water temps should be constantly 65 or better. Zone 9.
